Greg has been with Cedarhill since January of 2004 representing the club as our C.P.G.A. Head Professional and Director of Golf Activities. We thank him for his support and leadership and wish him well in his new endeavours. Coming on board as the clubs new C.P.G.A. Class “A” Head Professional will be Greg White. Greg has a wealth of industry experience having spent his past 12 years as Assistant Professional at Camelot Golf Club. Prior to that, Greg was a Head Professional in the Pembroke area. Greg is looking forward to meeting you at upcoming functions so please join me in extending to Greg our warmest welcome.
Senior Men’s League
Our existing Senior Men’s League at Cedarhill will be undergoing a format change designed to attract new members into the league. The Senior Men’s League will play on Thursday mornings and tee time slots are projected to be between 7:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The new format will be very similar to the one currently used by our Men’s Night League and will include individual and team play, 9 or 18 holes, access to a separate league handicap system, luncheons a la carte followed by weekly prize tables and pro shop draws. The club will be aggressively seeking league players from outside the club in order to build a base of approximately 60 golfers but more desirable would be to attract existing club members who regularly play on Thursday’s but are not currently part of the Senior Men’s League. Please check out our web site for details and watch for the sign up sheet in the men’s locker room in the Spring. Al Brown is the incoming Chair of the Senior Men’s League and is seeking committee members to assist him in this new initiative. If you are interested in assisting, please contact the office and we will put you in touch with Al.

PLAYING COMMITTEE (Bill Gosewitz & Lee Whelly, Club Captains)
Welcome to a New Year. As I sit and watch the sun on the snow, I know that spring cannot be far away. It will soon be time to pull out the sticks and start swinging again.
This year we have a few changes on the Playing Committee. We have added new members as follows - June Tam, Jim Merson and Scott McClelland.
These new members will join the following - Bill Gosewitz (Club Captain), Tom Bowie, David Green (we are trying to give David and Tom a rest so they can watch and give us advice), Dan Farant, Glen Clarke, Brad Myers and Keelan Green.
During the ‘off’ season, Lee Whelly got a ‘’game day’ promotion to President and Laura MacHutchon has moved to the Business Ladies League. I know they will be there to help us if we call, but on behalf of the entire playing committee, we wish them well in their new endeavours and thank them for their dedication and support to our committee and the club.
Keep your eyes peeled on the newsletter – the Opening Get Acquainted event is scheduled for April 26, 2008.
We will post a flyer in the mens and ladies locker rooms in early April. Until then, keep warm and well.
